"Coloré" salad with kumato tomatoes

I present a colorful salad, very cheap and easy to prepare, based on kumato tomatoes. Kumato tomatoes are tasty even if they are green and still unripe. It is based on a species of endangered wild tomato, which has been successively crossed with other species, reaching the kumato tomato that today we can find in stores across Europe. The taste of this tomato is a combination of cherry and wild tomato. I recommend these tomatoes, to give a special taste to your salads and life.

  • 500 gr. rosii kumato
  • 200 gr. Cherry tomatoes
  • normal green salad
  • salad created
  • Roman salad
  • red salad
  • 1/2 Italian green pepper
  • 2 small onions
  • lemon or balsamic vinegar, to taste
  • salt
  • olive oil (virgin)
  • a can of tuna in its own oil or juice

RECIPE PREPARATION "Coloré" salad with kumato tomatoes:

Wash the salad and all the vegetables well, then let it drain well. Cut the salad, tomatoes, onions, peppers and put them in a salad bowl. Add salt to taste, oil, then sour to taste and mix the contents. finally we put the tuna on top of the salad, arranged evenly. I prefer to serve it separately. However, the salad can be served. I like to serve it with toast.

Method of preparation

- The salad is cleaned, washed very well, broken into pieces and put in the salad bowl. Tomatoes are cut into thin or thicker slices according to preference, avocado is peeled and cut into small cubes and onions are cut into juliennes.
- Rub the chicken breast with oil, salt, pepper powder, chili and put it on the grill and after it is done, cut the pieces and put them in the salad bowl over the other ingredients.
- Add black beans from the box, washed and drained, sweet corn and finely chopped green parsley.
- Add 1 bag of Knorr Salad Dressing with peppers and greens which dissolves with 3 tablespoons of water and 3 tablespoons of olive oil in which you put sour cream, balsamic vinegar and pour over the salad. Add a chopped egg and mix the salad.
- Garnish with chopped egg rolls, slices of tomatoes, olives and a few parsley leaves.
Serve with good pleasure.

And because we are at a party on the green grass, in the evening we heat the grills for:

  • Pork Rack fraged [pork chop with bone, whole piece with fragile interior and crispy mice] long marinated and then slowly fried on the grill
  • Chicken steaks [boneless thighs / breast] kept 24 hours in a marinade with wild thyme, honey and lemon
  • Vegetable skewers with halloumi sprinkled with light tahini sauce for vegetarians

Everything accompanied by potatoes in a pot with dill and garlic / Baked vegetables (fennel, tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, red onions, etc.)

Assorted salad bar: young leaf salad [mangold, lettuce, arugula, watercress, iceberg lettuce, etc.] with citrus vinaigrette, cabbage salad with dill, tomato salad & arugula with garlic and oregano croutons

After we calm down, we put it on the grill around midnight

THE HOLLY HOMEMADE BURGER

One of the best burgers ever, we think. With fluffy buns made according to our recipe, made of beef kneaded with everything we know is best, with lettuce, cheddar slices and caramelized onions plus our homemade sauce. A delight.

A few weeks ago I wanted to make a beautiful salad, and Ioan had the idea to play with the device around me. What followed you can see below. I wanted to make a salad as colorful as possible, as chromatically attractive. We know that the little ones are not big consumers of greens and, I hope, adding a lot of color to the plate we will distract them from the french fries and we will be able to direct it to a healthy but also tasty salad.

We break the salad leaves, we roll them like a cigar, then we cut them into thin strips.

Then cut the bell peppers, discard the seeds, cut them into cubes and place them over the salad.

Then the onion, peeled and cut as thin as you can.

The salad starts to look great. But we're not ready yet.

Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and add them as well. It seems painstaking to cut the tomatoes, but I guarantee it's worth it.

Remove the seeds from the hot pepper, cut into small pieces and add to the salad bowl. We have a little more.

We are nearing the end, so the spices follow.

Dried oregano (goes perfectly with anything that contains tomatoes).

Freshly ground pepper. Not much, just for flavor.

For everything to bind, you need a little extra virgin olive oil. I prefer the olive one, but it can also be the sunflower.

The last actor on the scene is balsamic vinegar.

I'm done with the ingredients. It's time to mix the salad well, but carefully to keep the tomatoes whole.

Don't forget to always taste and adjust salt / pepper / oil / vinegar to your liking. This I recommend you to do with any kind of food & # 8211 taste continuously in all the preparation phases to make sure that you season everything perfectly.

Salad is good for everyone, recommended with steaks or cheeses and even empty or with two or three croutons of bread greased with oil and rubbed with garlic.

2. The Kumato concept from Syngenta

Kumato is the black tomato, of standard dimensions (maximum 150 grams) that we find in the autumn & # 8211 spring interval in the supermarkets in Romania. Kumato is a cultivar native to Spain patented by Syngenta. Kumato tomatoes differ from other tomatoes in color, but especially in the special taste, much sweeter than standard tomatoes. Kumato tomatoes contain more fructose than conventional tomatoes.

For those who are interested in cultivating this variety, we must announce that the seed is not distributed freely. Syngenta has made it clear that the Kumato tomato is part of a new Syngenta plan that requires farmers to be carefully inspected and approved by the company in order to obtain the seeds needed to grow this variety. So they created a club of growers where you can only enter by invitation.

Kumato tomatoes are currently grown in countries such as Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Canada and Australia.

These tomatoes are sold only in supermarkets with which Syngenta has agreements, and only under the use of the Kumato brand in their description.

Rosia Kumato is a hybrid, so keeping the seeds from tomatoes bought in supermarkets does not guarantee a plant that will produce the same fruit.


Tomatoes & # 8211 golden apples or apples of Heaven

Tomatoes & # 8211, also called golden apples by the Italians or apples of Heaven, by the Germans, occupy the first place in the top of the most consumed vegetables-fruits in the world. With a high content of mineral salts such as calcium, potassium, iron and phosphorus and rich in vitamins: A, B, C, PP, carbohydrates and organic acids, tomatoes are among the most consumed vegetables in the world.

Lycopene, the most valuable substance in the composition of tomatoes, has a strong antioxidant, antitumor role, protecting cells. He is also responsible for the red color of these vegetables. It should also be mentioned that lycopene has the property of not being destroyed by the cooking process, on the contrary, it increases its quantity and properties, so that cooked tomatoes are recommended in various antioxidant cures and diets. The absorption and properties of lycopene also increase when it is accompanied by vegetable oils, especially olive oil. Lycopene protects the body against ultraviolet radiation, helps with eye diseases (delays cataracts), reduces cholesterol, disorders and the risk due to atherosclerosis, slows down the aging process of cells. Tomatoes are also recommended in rheumatism for their content in substances with anti-inflammatory properties, similar to cortisone. They have an antidiabetic role, they are mineralizing, vitaminizing, depurative and detoxifying.

In the kitchen, tomatoes can be used raw in salads, can be boiled, baked or squeezed to make juices. Therefore, tomatoes are suitable for any form of cooking, for any type of recipe. The aromatic plants that go well with tomatoes are: dill, basil, tarragon, thyme and garlic.

It is recommended to keep them at room temperature so as not to lose their taste and flavor.

As varieties, the best known are: cherry tomatoes (which are the smallest of all varieties), plum, yellow-orange, kumato, "ox heart" and round.


COLORED SUMMER SALAD

INGREDIENT:

4-5 large tomatoes of different colors: red, orange and yellow & # 8211 choose how you like the number of tomatoes / color
3 small cucumbers
2 bell peppers: one green, one red
1 red onion
salt
pepper
olive oil
a few sprigs of parsley
optional: vinegar or lemon

Wash the tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers then cut them into slices. Cut the julienne onion, put it over the rest of the vegetables, season with salt, pepper and add the olive oil.

If you like lemon or vinegar, you can add 1/2 tablespoon. Mix the salad, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
