  1. Salted herring fillet 250 grams
  2. Lemon 1 piece
  3. Onion 1 piece
  4. Pear (can be replaced with apple) 1 piece
  5. Vegetable oil optional
  6. Allspice 3-4 pieces
  7. Bay leaf 1 piece
  • Main Ingredients
  • Serving 4-6

Kitchen knife, cutting board, salad bowl, plate.

Step 1: chop fruits and onions.

Rinse the pear (or apple), dry it, peel the seeds and twigs, and then cut into thin slices. Cut and washed lemon into thin slices, simultaneously cleaning seeds from it. Cut the onion rings.

Step 2: chop the herring fillet.

Dry herring fillet from oil or brine (depending on what it was prepared in). Then cut lengthwise in half, and then crosswise into thin stripes.

Step 3: mix herring with lemon and pear.

Transfer herring, slices of pears and lemons, as well as onion rings to a plate. Add vegetable oil, bay leaf and allspice. Mix well and refrigerate to mix all the flavors and tastes.

Step 4: serve herring with lemon and pear.

Serve herring with lemon and pear as a snack. I recommend preparing the fish in the evening, so that before it gets on the table, it should stand in the refrigerator for at least a night, so it’s tastier. Or, if you are serving it for a festive dinner, cook herring in the morning.
Enjoy your meal!
